In the cabinet

Emerald is beryl coloured by chromium and vanadium. Garden inclusions are expected; they are the stone’s handwriting, not a flaw to hide. We prefer stones with strong colour first, then clarity, and we always declare oil or resin filling.

In the tradition

Panna is Budha’s stone: speech, trade, intellect. Classical wearing is on the little finger, in gold, on a Wednesday.

Traditional benefits

  • Clearer speech, writing, and the work of the market
  • A traditional aid to study, accounts, and nervous hurry
  • Wit without cruelty — Mercury’s better face

Most emeralds are oiled. That is ordinary, and it should be on the bill. Emerald is not a cure for anxiety.
